BAND HISTORY
The origins of the band started in 2003 when old workmates started bumping in to each other at bike rallies and not hearing the type of music that we would like to. As we both played guitar we thought about forming a band to address the situation. The two Ians were soon joined by Ian d's best mate nippa who had a habit of singing along to almost any tune he heard.the three of us learned a few tunes to play at a party in 2004, which went down well and resulted in a hail of small change been thrown into a hat, a total of £2.22p. we were encouraged to take it to the next level and find a drummer and bass geetar player . we borrowed two such people for one gig at yet another party, which went well, as the club wanted to book us. that told us we were on the right track and permanant members were sought. Ian g had the good fortune to work with Colin who had long since hung his geetars up but was interested in getting back to playing, although originally a geetar player he also had a bass and agreed to fill that spot to get the project going. Sean Taylor a well respected drummer answered our advert and the band was complete. the band was named 2twentytwo, after the 1st pennies earned. Col was soon snapped up to play in a new band called the Sicknotes and did this alongside his 222 duties. after a year or so Sean decided to move on and was soon replaced by Andy. Col, now Kol, has since left the Sicknotes and now plays with a great band, themOObs, check these guys out !! if you can squeeze into where they 're playing, very popular. Nippa also got the 'be in two bands fever' and joined The Dirty South Late in 2009 Ian d decided to leave and as gigs were booked a relacement was quickly found in Steve Gilroy, Nippa's band mate from the Dorty Sooth, and the Gilroy band fame. So thats the line up as we head into 2010 whats next ? keep popping in to see us to find out.
